Checkout Questions

Setup >> Checkout Questions

Sometimes it is imperative that additional information is provided when your customer is ordering a specific item. This section is useful for questions such as those to do with personalization. For example, if you have a jewelry business and you offer engraving, you would then want to know what to engrave on whatever the customer orders.

This will work in conjunction with the product groups, it will help define which questions get asked and when.

Adding a New Checkout Question

  • Enter the new Question details into the input fields
  • Select the product group that this question will be associated with
  • Click the "Add" button to save this question
  • Question The question to be asked.
    Default Answer This section is usually blank, unless the answer type is a dropdown, or checkboxes. If the answer type is a dropdown or checkbox, then you would then put in the answers to choose from, separated by a semicolon. For example, if the question was "Do you want this gift wrapped?" and the available answers, for either a dropdown menu, or checkboxes, were yes and no, this section would look like this, [yes; no]
    Answer Type This is the type of answer that is allowed, it can be a text line (text), a big text area (text area), a dropdown menu, or checkboxes.
    Required If an answer is required in order for the order to proceed, you would want to check this box.
    Hide Check this box if you want to hide this question, uncheck it to show the question.
    Sort Order The order that the question is shown in, if there is more than one question to be asked.
    Product Group The product group that the question is asked to, if you keep it on "select" it will ask the question for every product ordered.

    Editing a Checkout Question

  • Click on the "Edit" link under the Actions column
  • Edit the details of the question
  • Click the "Update" button to save

    Deleting a Checkout Question

  • Click on the "Delete" link under the Actions column
  • Confirm "Delete" by clicking the "Delete" button
