Returns (Return Merchandise Authorization)

Setup >> Site Wide Settings >> Returns (RMA) Tab

The RMA values allow you to configure the return settings for your products. Once the settings are entered customers are able to log into the customer login page and view those products which they are able to return. Once the return period is expired the customer will not be able to generate an RMA code which is required for returns.

Recent Order Listing

This section allows you to view recent orders.
  • Enter a numerical value in the text field
  • Click the "Update" button
  • RMA Reasons List

    You may add and remove reasons for returns in this section. List order refers to the order that the return reason will be shown in. Reason refers to the reason for the return.

    Add a New RMA Reason

  • Enter a numerical value in the List Order field
  • Enter a reason in the reason field
  • Click the "Add Entry" button
    The new return reason will be added to the existing list.
  • Delete a RMA Reason

  • Click on the "Remove" link in the action column
  • There will be no prompt confirming that you want to delete this reason
  • Special RMA Policy Entries

    In this section you'll be able to view and delete all special policies. If there are certain products that have a special return policy, such as seasonal items, they should be listed here.
    RMA Type This can be either a whole category or a single item. This will be listed as Category ID or Product ID. Category IDs are used so that a whole category can have the same return policy.
    Entry Value This is either the Category or Product ID.
    Returnable If these are returnable a "1" would be here, if not a "0" will be here.
    Length This refers to the length of time after the purchase that the customer has to return the item.
    Unit This refers to the length unit, usually the unit it days.
    Action This is where you can remove any RMA policy entries. Simply click on the "Remove" link to remove the policy.

    Add entry by Product ID

    If there is a product that you want to have a special return policy for, you can use this section to add it to the Special RMA policy list.
  • Using the dropdown menu, choose the Product ID
  • Enter a numeric value into the Returnable column
  • Enter a numeric value into the Length column
  • Click the "Add Product ID" button
  • Add entry by Product Category

    If there is a whole category that you want to have a special return policy for, you can use this section to add it to the Special RMA policy list.
  • Using the dropdown menu, choose the Category ID
  • Enter a numeric value into the Returnable column
  • Enter a numeric value into the Length column
  • Click the "Add Category" button
