Site Wide Setup

Setup >> Site Wide Settings

This section controls many settings that affect your entire site. This section is a primary section that you will use to define the overall features of your site. To make sure that your store is configured correctly you can use the features on this page to define the basic store setup. This section will cover many items such as tax setup, shopping cart configuration, design, RMA  information and more. The site-wide settings are most frequently accessed when your store is initially being setup for use. Once your store is setup, you can always return to the site wide settings.

Site Wide Settings

Site Name This will be the name of your entire site. This information is used for Search Engine Optimization.
Description This will be the description of your entire site. This information is used for Search Engine Optimization.
Default Page Title This is your page title, this will be displayed in the browser title section for those pages lacking an SEO page title.
Default Page Keywords This will be the keywords for your page. This information is used for Search Engine Optimization.
Default Page Description This will be the default page description. This information is also used to for Search Engine Optimization.
SSL or HTTPS address This either the SSL (Secure Socket Layer), or HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure) address, this creates a secure setting for your site, it encrypts any information that is sent through these pages.
Web Site Url This is your site URL (Uniform Resource Locator) or web address, it will look like this (http://www.your-page.com)
Checkout - Display Side Banners Check Yes in order to display the side banners on your site.
Show Quantity If you check yes, this will allow your customers to see the quantity you have of a certain item.
Hide Navigation Headings If you check yes, this will hide your navigation headings.
Hide Product Suggestions If you check yes, this will hide the product suggestions.
Turn Off Coupon Offers If you check yes, this will turn off the coupon offers.
Turn Off Gift Certificates If you check yes, this will turn off gift certificates.
Turn off PayPal Option Checking yes will turn off the PayPal option. Turning off the PayPal option will not allow your customers to pay using PayPal. PayPal is a service that allows customers to pay from one PayPal account to a second Payal account. Lots of customers like to pay with PayPal when purchasing over the internet. Note: You should verify that all PayPal payments have been received prior to shipping goods to your customer.
Turn off E-Check Option Checking yes will turn off the E-Check option. E-Checks are just like accepting regular checks, though you never get a tangible check, you just use the routing and account numbers to obtain payment.
Shipping Markup This is a markup that can be added to either FedEx or UPS online shipping rates. The markup will be added on top of the rate quote. For example is your Shipping Markup is $5 and the FedEx quote is $20, then the shipping charge to the customer will be $25. A numerical value that represents the percentage of this markup is required in this field.
Order Notification There are three order notification options for you. You can choose to receive a limited email, not containing any confidential customer information, the second is to receive a fully encrypted email containing all of your order information, and the last selection is to lookup all received orders online. You may want to choose the last option if you receive lots of online orders.
Ignore Quantities on Hand By checking yes, you will ignore the quantities you have on hand of a certain item. This will allow customers to purchase any quantity of the item regardless of how many you have on hand or in stock. Note: This restriction does not apply to gift certificates.
Home State This refers to the two digit code for your home state. This will prompt the shopping cart to charge tax for customers residing in your home state.
Home Tax Rate The home tax rate is the tax percentage that orders that are being shipped to your home state need to be taxed. Use a numerical values and a decimal to set this number. 8.25% would look like 0.0825.
Billing Shipping Same This allows you to control whether the billing and shipping address are the same. Many sites like to only ship to the billing address to help prevent theft, fraud, and other illegal activities.
Ship Internationally Selecting NO for this option will automatically bypass the product suggestions page generally viewed when a customer places an item into their shopping cart. If you turn off this feature, the customer will be sent directly to the shopping cart where they can view their items. Both the shopping cart and the suggestions page show product suggestions and Hot Products, however, the suggestions are more prominent when this feature is left on.
Max Cookie Time (in secs) This is a numerical value only which allows you to set the maximum cookie time in seconds.
Affiliate Percentage (decimal - 0.1 for 10%) This allows you to set the affiliate percentage amount, for those affiliates you pay by percentage.
Paid per order This allows you to set up the dollar amount to be paid to an affiliate per order. Please enter a numerical value only.
Shipper Use this box to select your primary shipper. If you select an online processor, please note that you must all define your Shipping Methods in the Main Links section of the site administration. This will be a numerical value, without any special characters, 8.75% will look like 0.0875.
Amount Required for Free Shipping If you want to offer free shipping for orders over a certain amount, here you would put in that amount.
Choose Online Processor his is used to select your online processor. You can select to not process credit cards online. If you select a processor, you must also input your processor information within the Master Site Setup Page.
